9 Weeks Old

Our little girl is two months old now and changing so much each day!  Kylie amazed us last week by rolling over from her belly to her back!  She is holding her head up pretty steady now.  Smiling more and more and blowing lots of bubbles!  She loves the tub and is spending more and more time awake during the day.  Last night she went her longest ever between feedings.  She ate at 8:15PM and then not again until 4:30AM!  She sleeps in her rock n play at night and a variety of places for napping during the day.  She is starting to reach and sometimes grab for things.  Also starting to make more noises like coos.

Kylie had her two month check up on Friday.  Here are the highlights:

  • Weight:  11 lbs 6 oz (53%ile)
  • Height:  23.5 in (90%ile)
  • HC: 38.5cm (58%ile)
Dr. Bolton says Kylie has a mild tongue tie.  She checked it after we noticed her tongue looking heart shaped and pulled back.  Right now it's a wait and see if it will effect her speech development.

Clothes: 0-3 or 3 months - just started wearing 3 month bodysuits

Formula: Enfamil Reguline

Sleeping: Awake much more during the day. Some days she barely sleeps, others she sleeps all day.  Sleeps great in the car seat! Trying to get some sort of nap schedule started...but no success yet.  For naps she sleeps in the bouncy seat, car seat or swing.  We've started a nightly routine.  At 8:15 Kylie gets changed, bedtime lotion on, sleepsack and gas drops.  Then we rock her in our bedroom in the dark while feeding her a bottle.  She usually takes 7 oz.  She then gets put in her rock n play, but usually wakes up and needs to be rocked again before going back in. Usually about a 6-7 hour sleep stretch. Takes one bottle a night.

Nighttime Sleep:  Rock n Play
Daytime Sleep: Car seat, swing, bouncy seat

Eating: She is drinking about 28-31 ounces a day over 5-6 bottles.  About an average of 5-6 ounces every 3-4 hours. After her last bottle of the day she will usually go 6-7 hours before eating in the middle of the night.

Diapers: About 2-4 poops a day. Poop has dramatically changed in the last week and a half.  It changes between dark green, very loose, smelly to mustard color, firmer and seedy.  Many diaper explosions in the past week

Milestones: lifting her head up high, clasps hands together, smiles, rolls one way, blows bubbles
