11 Weeks Old!
Kylie is 11 weeks old! She is growing so fast and we all love watching her!
Here are some updates on Kylie:
She has started to make some vocalizations like cooing, but not much yet.
She is smiling more but it's hard to get one out of her!
She is still dealing with lots of gas. We give her gas drops 3-4 times a day.
Her BMs are still very liquidy, but have consistently been dark green. She has been having many diaper blow outs recently as well. I go back and forth on whether to switch the formula again. She is somewhat consistent on the number of BMs. One week it was 2 a day, then one week it was 3 a day...this week it's been 1 a day.
She loves to suck on her fists! Along with that she loves to blow bubbles and she is drooling all the time!
She is trying hard to roll the other way now!
She is using her bumbo and sit up seat more and more. We are going to bring the jumperoo down next weekend.
Diapers: Size 1 (size 2 at night)
Clothes: o-3 and 3 months, but getting very tight, mostly lengthwise I guess she will be in 3-6/6 month clothes by the end of the month.
Sleeping: Frustrating. I'm trying to be a little more lax and go with the flow, but it's hard! I've been trying to create some sort of schedule. What I've been trying to do is make the morning naps "on-the-go" and make sure we are home by 12:30/1 each day and then her afternoon naps are all in the rock n play. I've eliminated the swing/bouncy seat for naps, which has been hard because she takes longer to fall asleep and sometimes doesn't sleep very long. She seems to have one long nap each day, usually so long I wake her around 3 -3.5 hours into it. It's been hard to get her usual 28-30 ounces a day in her with the weird napping schedule. I've been trying to help her learn to fall asleep with less sleep props, but that is proving very difficult. She loves the pacifier initially to fall asleep, but she usally spits it out and then doesn't want it or can't keep it in her mouth, so then I need to start over to calm her down and get her to sleep. VERY rarely does she go into the rock n play drowsy and fall asleep completely. Depending on our schedule she takes 3-4 naps a day...usually a 3 hour nap and 2-3 40 minute naps. At night is a challenge to go to sleep. She is either so tired at bedtime that she falls asleep before barely eating anything or is so hard to put to sleep after she eats. We are sticking with the bedtime routine but have moved it a little earlier to see if overtiredness is the cause of the difficultness. Usually we start her bedtime routine at 8 oclock, then 6 oz bottle at 8:15 and then hopefully she falls asleep by 9:30. She usually sleeps 6 hours and wakes to eat, but she has only been taking 2-4 ounces at that nighttime feeding. Last night only took 1 ounce! She usually wakes again around 5-5:30 with gas or burp and needs to be rocked back to sleep, if she wakes again I bring her in bed with me.
Feeding: 5-6 ounces every 3.5-4 hours
Formula: Enfamil Reguline
