7 Weeks!

We've reached 7 weeks in the pregnancy and look forward to our first appointment next week!

Symptoms:
  • Nausea - still taking B6 2x daily - total weight lost: 7 lbs
  • Fatigue
  • Sore breasts

Baby in week 7:

The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you're daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry.
If you could see inside your womb, you'd spot eyelid folds partially covering her peepers, which already have some color, as well as the tip of her nose and tiny veins beneath parchment-thin skin. Both hemispheres of your baby's brain are growing, and her liver is churning out red blood cells until her bone marrow forms and takes over this role. She also has an appendix and a pancreas, which will eventually produce the hormone insulin to aid in digestion. A loop in your baby's growing intestines is bulging into her umbilical cord, which now has distinct blood vessels to carry oxygen and nutrients to and from her tiny body.

6 Weeks!

We've reach 6 weeks and were happy to announce to our immediate family the news last night!

Symptoms:
Mainly just fatigue and nausea.  They are both so intense I haven't noticed much of anything else.

I've lost 6 lbs since I found out I was pregnant.  I am taking B6 3x a day to help with nausea.

Your Baby in Week 6 of Pregnancy

You might be coping with full-blown pregnancy symptoms (sorry), but there's plenty of good news too. Your baby's jaw, cheeks, chin, eyes, ears, and nose are beginning to form what will eventually become one adorable face. In addition, her kidneys, liver, and lungs are developing, and her heart is now beating 80 times a minute (and getting faster every day). All this and she's still no bigger than the length of a nail head (about a quarter of an inch) from crown to rump!

15 days until our FIRST appointment!!

5 Weeks

Feeling excited to be 5 weeks!  Chris and I are still the only ones who know...which is impressive for me!

Symptoms:
  • bouts of nausea started yesterday.
  • 3 lbs lost since I found out I was pregnant.
  • Fatigue (having to take naps)
  • achy legs and hips
  • Pelvic aches/pain
  • headaches

Week 5 Information:
This is another important week in the development of your baby as the construction of the heart and the central nervous system will now begin. It is amazing how only in these first few weeks your baby has transformed from a single fertilised egg to an embryo with arms and legs already beginning to form. Last week your baby resembled a tadpole and now the tiny stems where the arms and legs will grow are already visible. As big as a grain or rice, around 2mm the baby is now visible to the naked eye.

An ultrasound scan can now already distinguish between the head and the tailbone and the spine will start developing. The tiny heart will begin to beat around this time, very slowly and carefully.

23 days until our first OB appointment!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year friends and family!  Although 2013 proved to be a tough year for our family we are looking forward to 2014 in hopes of bringing baby #2 into our family.

Christmas Day - I took a home pregnancy test and thought maybe, just maybe there was a second line, but I wasn't convinced.

Saturday Dec 28th - Took another HPT and saw a "somewhat" darker line, but you really had to squint and I still wasn't convinced.

Sunday Dec 29th - Took a DIGITAL HPT

And there it is!  Yup I'm pregnant!  Surreal!

We are very excited and praying for a happy and healthy nine months.

I am 4 weeks 4 days pregnant with an estimated due date on September 6, 2014.

Symptoms:

  • headache
  • fatigue
  • heart palpitations
  • achy legs
  • dizziness
  • acne breakout

  • January 27th - Liz (midwife) First OB
  • February 14th - Dr. Diaz (doctor) First DR OB
We are planning a surprise reveal for immediate family only on January 11th when I will be exactly 6 weeks!
